Ѹ’s sociology program recently established an articulation agreement with , a Christian college in Reformed theological tradition, located in Sioux Center, Iowa.

This new agreement will provide a fast-track pathway for students to complete their Master of Social Work after graduating from Ѹ, giving Ѹ students a head start to an advanced degree that is accredited by the (CSWE) and approved by the Higher Learning Commission. Additionally, Dordt’s MSW program is completely online.

This exciting partnership will “offer students theological continuity and has potential to further deepen their understanding of social work as Christian mission,” says Dr. Matthew Vos, chair of Ѹ’s sociology department. “Students can move into Dordt's program and further develop the ideas that germinated with us.”

Dr. Collin Messer, Ѹ’s vice president for academic affairs, adds that this formalized agreement will create a great pathway for students to pursue their MSW: “Building on the strong foundation provided by our excellent sociology major and our rich liberal arts core, our students will thrive at Dordt as they prepare to serve their neighbors in the name of Jesus.”

Ѹ sociology graduates who earn a C or above in certain Ѹ sociology courses will receive a waiver at Dordt for select foundational courses. After the successful transfer of credit, the total number of hours required for MSW completion is 45-48 credit hours, including advanced standing courses and practice specialization courses.
